Are you a graduate student, postdoctoral fellow, resident, or clinical fellow interested in shaping the future of radiation medicine? The Strategic Training in Transdisciplinary Radiation Science for the 21st Century (STARS21) program is now accepting applications for its 2025–2026 cohort. This full year-long initiative is your gateway to becoming a globally recognized leader in translational and transdisciplinary radiation science.


What is STARS21?

Hosted by leading experts in radiation medicine, STARS21 is a competitive, fully immersive training program that brings together promising scientists and clinicians from across disciplines to collaborate, innovate, and lead in the field of radiation science.


Who Can Apply?

The STARS21 Program is open to:

  • Graduate students
  • Postdoctoral fellows
  • Clinical fellows
  • Medical residents

Applicants should be actively engaged in or planning a career in radiation medicine or a related research discipline.


Program Benefits

The last date to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the General Stream of the STARS21 Program 2025–2026 is June 27, 2025, by 5:00 PM (ET). Shortlisted applicants will be notified during the week of July 14–18, 2025, and invited to submit a full application by August 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM (ET).

Final award decisions will be announced in September 2025, with the program running from late September or early October 2025 through May 2026. For the Alternate Stream (Clinical Fellows and Residents), the LOI deadline is August 8, 2025, and the full application deadline is August 26, 2025.
