Are you passionate about safeguarding clean and wholesome drinking water? The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) offers an exceptional opportunity to pursue a fully funded PhD in Water Supply at DTU Sustain – the Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.
This 3-year full-time PhD scholarship starts on 1 September 2025 and is open to both Danish and international applicants.

PhD Research Focus Areas
Selected candidates will:
- Conduct advanced research in monitoring strategies and technologies for clean drinking water.
- Contribute to the development and assessment of novel technologies (e.g. UV-disinfection, pesticide metabolite monitoring).
- Collaborate with researchers, industry partners, and students.
- Co-supervise BSc and MSc student projects and support classroom teaching.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Hold a two (02) year Master’s degree (120 ECTS) or equivalent in Water Supply, Environmental Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Meet DTU’s PhD enrolment requirements (see DTU’s rules for PhD education).
- Be fluent in English and able to submit all application documents in English.
- You may apply before you have received your degree, but cannot begin the PhD without it.
